Acadiana Repertory Theatre presents Jody Gerham’s Taste: A Wine Country Pygmalion
The Acadiana Repertory Theatre will present the developmental production of Jody Gerham’s Taste: A Wine Country Pygmalion, the first show of their 2017 Season.
Astrid, a radical young New York activist, inherits Chateau Chevalier, a winery in the heart of California’s richest wine region. Though she hates the industry’s decadence, she agrees to be transformed by the head winemaker into a wine-savvy, media-friendly heiress in order to save the Chateau from imminent bankruptcy. This fresh comedic take on the Pygmalion myth explores the wine industry and the tension between decadence and social activism but manages to throw in just a little bit of romance, a lot of laughs, and will definitely make you want a glass of wine!
This developmental production is directed by Debbi Ardoin and features Abby Deger, Steven R. Landry, Rick Manuel, Kristin DuBois, Andre Trahan, Andrew Mills, Monique Morton, Elaine Kibodeaux, and Gabe Ortego.
