The Lauren Reilly-Elliot Theatre Company presents FENCES by August Wilson January 12 – 21, 2018.
This sensational drama starred James Earl Jones as Troy Maxson, a former star of the Negro baseball leagues who now works as a garbage man in 1957 Pittsburgh. Excluded as a black man from the major leagues during his prime, Troy’s bitterness takes its toll on his relationships with his wife and his son, who now wants his own chance to play ball. Revived in 2010 starring Denzel Washington in the lead role. And more recently the film version, starring Denzel Washington and Viola Davis.
There will be an opening night fundraising gala for the Stage Backers on Friday, January 12, 2018, with dinner at 6:00 p.m. and the show at 7:30. Tickets for this event are $40. The show will run Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30p.m., and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. Tickets for regular performances are $20 (including tax).
