Sing and Play Music Lessons for Children and Parents are offered by Esther Tyree.
She holds a Master’s Degree in vocal music education, with a focus on Kodaly music training. Kodaly was a composer that developed a method of teaching children how to read and write music using folk songs, rhymes, and singing games. As children become familiar with the songs, rhymes, and games, Ms. Tyree asks leading questions giving the children an opportunity to discover elements of music which then get named, practiced, and then found in new songs. These classes are fun for parents and children.
The classes are interactive, entertaining, and educational. Parents learn along with the children and are encouraged to use the songs, rhymes, and games throughout the week with their children, thereby creating a musical environment in the home which reinforces what the children learned in class.
Ms. Tyree is currently offering a birth – 2 years class, Mondays at 10 AM and a 3 – 5 years class, Mondays at 10:30. She is also planning a 6-8 years class, day and time dependent on interest and enrollment. Call or e-mail Ms. Tyree for more information: (337) 344-2777, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
