About The Event
This two-week crash course in movie-making is open to aspiring directors, writers, editors, and dreamers in grades 6-12. Running Monday through Friday from June 30th to July 11th, 1 PM - 3 PM, students will get a hands-on introduction to the art of filmmaking. From crafting compelling scripts to shooting dynamic scenes, creating special effects, and mastering the final edit, they’ll learn every step of the process to bring a film to life.
But here’s the best part: this isn’t just a class, it’s a chance to create something amazing. By the end of the workshop, the group will collaborate to produce their very own original short film. Then, it’s time for the big silver screen! The finished movie will premiere at Cité des Arts with a special screening for friends, family, popcorn, and applause.
